Smashing the Patriarchy

I'm a Mother of two amazing daughters. Since they were little I've taught them that women can do anything a man can do. The importance of equality has always been important teachings in our home. When the opportunity presented itself to create art around the theme "the world you want to see" it was a easy choice for me.

This piece took nearly a month of building, sculpting and painting to get everything just right. Some of the words on the fist smashing the "Patriarchy" words below it include: reproductive rights, diet culture, missing and murdered women, education equality, etc...
